Maureen Schild
B.Ed., M.A (Psychology of Therapy & Counselling)
Dip.Psych. UKCP.
I have been engaged in the field of counselling and
psychotherapy for almost twenty years as both Psychotherapist and Trainer.
I trained in psychosynthesis psychotherapy at the Institute of Psychosynthesis,
London, with John Firman and Ann Gila, authors of The Primal Wound.
For me, psychosynthesis offers the most inclusive
vision of the human psyche, acknowledging a spiritual dimension which
can make itself known through psychological issues. The inclusivity
informs my therapeutic work with groups and individuals. I have a Masters
degree in the psychology of therapy and counselling from Antioch, Ohio,
USA and made the Psychodynamics of Letting Go my area of special
study at this level.
As well as being a Trainer with twelve years of experience
as senior faculty at the London Institute, I am a qualified Supervisor
and Training Therapist. I have also trained in chemical dependency counselling
and have developed and taught courses on the addictive diseases for
several counselling training organisations.
